Natural Ways Of Whitening Teeth
During our youth, teeth are usually white and bright, as teeth staining habits like smoking and eating foods that stain are developed as we get older. It is after we learn to smoke and start eating a variety of foods that can, and actually stain the teeth that we note that our teeth are gradually becoming discoloured. Chemicals such as tetracycline or exposure to too much fluoride can also lead to discoloured teeth. As there are numerous causes for teeth discolouration, there are similarly, numerous natural ways to whiten teeth as well. Let us count the ways, therefore, that you can whiten your teeth if you wish.
Natural Ways of Whitening Teeth:
First, if you can afford the cost, you may visit the dentist office to go through a series of laser assisted procedures or teeth bleaching procedures that provide immediate results. It is also possible to procure take home teeth whitening kits that are just as successful as visiting the dentist office, but these kits too are quite expensive.
Secondly, there are more natural, inexpensive ways to whiten teeth that are quite efficient. Following are three such simple ways to whiten teeth:
Baking Soda and Strawberry Treatment
Mix baking soda with ripe strawberries, ensure that baking soda not baking powder is used, and with the mixture, gently brush the teeth. Make sure that the strawberries are thoroughly crushed. Additionally, use gentle motions only on the teeth, as baking soda is abrasive and the enamel of your teeth could be damaged if too energetically brushed. After the application of the mixture of crushed strawberry and baking soda, the treatment can be finished with a thorough brushing with your favourite toothpaste.
Baking Soda and Salt Treatment
Salt can be substituted for strawberries in the mixture with baking soda. Simply follow the procedure listed above replacing strawberries with salt. This mixture has the added bonus of allowing the user to easily remove stain and dirt from the teeth, specifically those caused by tea, coffee and red wine.
Floss Regularly
Flossing your teeth is substantially better than brushing alone, although many of us take the process of flossing regularly, for granted. Flossing removes imbedded dirt from around and between teeth. Grime that has not been detached from the teeth by brushing can be detached by flossing and this leads to whiter, cleaner teeth ultimately. You will notice good results if you try flossing regularly.
These are simply some of the natural and effective ways to whiten teeth and to do so, in an inexpensive way. You will soon be flashing a million dollar smile if you try out one of these procedures!
